Speaker Recommendation

If you have a speaker you would like to recommend for txEDCON2020, please review our requirements below and submit to Taylor Thompson at taylor.thompson@tasb.org.

General Sessions parameters

Each of our General Sessions has its own unique speaker parameters.

First General Session

Our First General Session kicks off our programming on the afternoon of the first day, October 2, 2020.

For this session, we are looking for a speaker who delivers a profound message that will motivate attendees to engage their community and build support for public schools.

The best candidate for this speaking role motivates attendees with an entertaining presentation and engaging call to action.

Second General Session

Our Second General Session will be delivered on the morning of October 3, 2020.

For this session, we are looking for a speaker who delivers an educational message that grips both school board members and administrators in exploring the desired outcomes of public education. After all, it’s the community that has the best chance of directly influencing the success of its public school.

The best candidate for this speaking role connects content directly to the success of public schools (in Texas or in other states) and shows a deep understanding of current educational science and trends.

Third General Session

Our Third General Session closes out our Convention on Sunday morning, October 4, 2020.

For this session, we are looking for a speaker who delivers an inspirational message to our guests that validates and empowers attendees in their leadership role. We want board members and administrators to see the power in their roles and take pride in their influence.

The best candidate for this speaking role connects with the audience on a personal level, seeks to set the tone for the rest of the school year, and provides tangible takeaways that reignite passion for improving public schools.
