Bright lights, big personalities, shiny cars... In many ways, Dallas is the belle of the Texas ball. From JR Ewing and the TV show Dallas to the Dallas Cowboys and their cheerleaders, this city has made a deep imprint on American popular culture. An upscale ethos makes for an amazing dining scene (you can tell which place is hot by the caliber of cars the valet parks out front). The museums are not only excellent, but also unique – history buffs should not miss the memorials to former president John F Kennedy. And one of the most impressive additions to Dallas’ cultural landscape in recent years is the 68-acre Arts District, now one of the largest in the country.
Getting around Dallas
Complimentary shuttle service is provided for attendees on Friday, Saturday and Sunday between all hotels that are not considered within walking distance to the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas. Walking distance hotels are the Omni and Aloft. Limited shuttle service will be provided at the Lorenzo hotel, but our guests staying here will have a transportation option to/from the Convention Center in the AM and PM.
The City of Dallas offers convenient accessible service throughout the city. Visit Dallas offers a plethora of options including a free trolley, D-Link Buses, and the Dart Rail.
Warning about housing pirates
Housing for the TASA/TASB Convention is handled exclusively by Convention Housing Management (CHM). If you receive solicitations from other vendors (commonly referred to as “pirates” or “poachers”), please do not provide them your personal information, especially your credit card number. If you cooperate with them, your credit card may be charged and you may not have a hotel room when you arrive at your destination. Read more.
